So we were on out way back to the lodge when this gal crossed the road about 50' ahead of us. So we stopped the ATV and watched as she just ate grass and approached us even closer. She was standing up and the tall grasses, just about 20 feet away from us almost completely covered her.
This bull was the largest bear we saw. He was the most dominant bear in the area. You can see the battle scars on his legs, shoulders and face. He really did not care we were there and let us approach without even looking up at us. But even though he did not make eye-contact, I am positive he knew we were there. Intimidating, yes; frightening, no!
